Mathias Hair Nichols and Margaret LaGrone Family

Mathias Hair NICHOLS was born in 1818 in South Carolina. He died about 1885 in Alabama. He served in the military as a private in Co. A, 27th Reg. Mississippi. CSA. Lost his arm during the Civil War. He was married to Margaret LAGRONE on 30 Aug 1839 in Bibb County Alabama.
Margaret LAGRONE was born in 1820/21 in South Carolina. She died between 1880 and 1885 in Alabama. Children were:

i. Margaret A. Nichols b. 1840.

ii. Sarah E. Nichols b. 1842. Married 1 Jan 1869 William Wesley Taylor. This was his second marriage. He first married Mary LaGrone. When Sarah died, he married her sister Catherine Nichols. Children by Sarah:

vi. Henry C. Nichols b.1846. Married Samantha Stone.

vii. Dorothy NICHOLS. b. 1847 Alabama died abt 1889 Alabama. Married Johnson Ford Taylor b. 1856 Alabama, died 10 Aug 1945 Hale County, Alabama. 3 children:
