48. Leonard GARDNER. Born about 1786 in Maryland (according to the 1850 Fed Census of Vinton Co., Ohio. according to the 1860 Fed Census of Vinton Co., Oh. he was born 1784 in PA.) Married Margaret Carnes 11 May 1812 in Loudoun County, Virginia (certified copy). 

A deed dated 17 Jan 1842 from Hocking County, Ohio; Recorder F-298 Leonard Gardner and Wife to Sons and Daughters. This deed was found by Ann Nostwich and sent to me via e-mail through the Gardner Mail List Server.

49. Margaret Carnes. Born about 1791 Virginia (per 1860 Fed Census of Vinton Co., Oh. The 1850 census shows her born 1796 in Virginia).

The 1880 Census of Smith Township, Worth County, Missouri of their son Nelson Gardner and wife Matilda Corrick shows his parents as both being born in Ohio.

Elias Remy is a brother to Emily Remy who married Elisha Gardner. Issue 5 children. Married 2nd Joseph Smith 10 Jan 1855 in Vinton County, Ohio  Issue 3 children. (per copy of marriage record owned by Ann Nostwich)
