Thomas Wier and Elizabeth Faulkner Family

130. Thomas WIER (said in some family records to have been) born in 1708 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland (these dates indicate that Thomas could have been born as late as 1740-40. It is possible the original handwritten record said 1728 but was misread 1708. The same early family source which said he was born 1708 said his father James was born in 1683. Some charts drawn by the family of Thomas Jr. in the 1860s seem to show Thomas Sr. as the first child of James. Others seem to indicate he could have been the youngest child. He married about 1755-60 to Elizabeth FAULKNER.

131. Elizabeth FAULKNER probably born about 1740 in Ireland. She was the daughter of "Squire" (William?) Faulkner, "A farmer who lived at The Waterside of Londonderry." His given name is uncertain. Children were:

 child65 i. Agnus Nancy WIER. was born about 1760 in County Tyrone, Belnagilla, Parish of Lissan, Northern Ireland. She died in 1843 in Lumpkin Co., Georgia. Married James Boyd August 4, 1783 Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. 5 children.

Arrived in Charleston, South Carolina in 1795 on the Volunteer.

 childii. Thomas WIER II was born in 1763 in Ireland. He died in South Carolina. He was buried in Old Rocks Cemetery, Greenwood, South Carolina. Married Mary Withrow born 1767 Parish Alidesert, Township Water, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Died Greenwood, South Carolina. Buried with husband in Old Rock Church Cemetery. They had 10 children;
bulletRobert Wier born 1789 County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Died 27 Apr 1869 in Illinois. Married Jane N. Boyd, daughter of William Boyd Sr. and Margaret Lyons William Boyd was a brother of James Boyd who married Agnus Nancy Wier). She died 18 Oct 1872 Lively Prairie, Illinois. They had 8 children:

 childiii. James WIER was born in 1769 in Cookstown, Northern Ireland. Married about 1792 Mary Hamilton born about 1744 in Ireland. She was the daughter of James (or a Robert) Hamilton and Jane Boyd (Jane was a sister of James Boyd who married Agnus Nancy Wier and to William Boyd who's daughter married Robert Wier). They had 8 children;

From the passenger list of the Lady Washington that left Belfast and arrived in Charleston South Carolina in 1804. William Boyd with his wife Margaret Lyons Boyd and son Samuel Boyd. James Wier and his wife Mary Hamilton Wier.
